Youth Pastor Fined By FCC for Slip OF The Tongue

I don't know how many of you saw this last year. But if you haven't watch this first...

So, I guess there is this "prank" group that likes to prank religious people. I watched a couple of their videos and I'm not really sure what I think. Anyway, they decided to prank this Youth Pastor that had a slip of the tongue. I did think this was funny. It is a little long, but it just made me squirm. What would you do if something like this happened to you?

Daily Dose Of Imagery

I have a link for the Daily Does Of Imagery Blog in my Blogroll. I Don't know if you've checked it out, but you need to. I am a fan of great photography. The ability to know your equipment and what it can do, use the natural lighting that God provides and then frame up exactly what we need to see, is amazing! This guys has done this well. Everyday there is a new picture he's taken and they are always exactly what I described. Todays picture is gorgeous. Makes you want to disappear from city life forever.

Check Him Out!

God's Beauty Through A Child

Today at church, I was talking to one of our electric players and he reminded me of this young girl named Akaine (thanks Al). I remembered reading about her a long time ago. Al sent me the link to her website. This 12 year old girl had a life changing spiritual transformation when she was 4. This transformation lead her Atheistic parents to the Lord. At the age of 4 she began painting and writing poetry and is considered to be one of the 20 greatest artist/poets alive today. She is surrendered to the fact that God gave her a gift and this gift is to be used to display God and His love to others. She is 12!!! I love this. I am going to try and get a hold of one of the books she has co written about her life. Yes, one of the books she has co-written. This story and this girl are amazing! This picture is one of her famous paintings. It is called "Prince Of Peace". She painted it when she was 8!

Tagged

So I received a challenge from my wife today. She was "tagged" by another blogger to answer some questions and post them up. She then "tagged" me to do the same. So here we go...

5 things I wanna do before I die:

1-Be debt free
2-Travel around Europe
3-See Tammy's mom and family come to know the Lord!
4-Give my wife the amazing honeymoon we never really had
5-Experience all drivers on the road driving as well as I do

5 things I can do:

1-Snore, loud.
2-Have Ice Cream everyday (I shouldn't and I don't, but I could)
3-Sit for hours on my computer doing things like this and let my day waste away
4-Drink coffee anytime, anywhere
5-Take a mean slap from my wife...like a man!

5 things I cannot do:

1-Not get upset at the drivers on the road around me
2-Eat and enjoy eggplant
3-The splits (ouch)
4-Listen to my son eat with his mouth open
5-Not use my computer for one day

5 things that make a woman attractive to me:

1-Relationship w/God
2-Confidence
3-Easy going
4-Interested in learning
5-Laughs at my jokes

5 celebrities I crush on:

I had some great answers for this, but I really only have one crush. I am madly, deeply in love with my wife. No this is not trying to earn points, I just can't say there is another, in any way, because there isn't. By the way, everything on the "What makes a Woman attractive" list...she has...and more.

Funny Signage

I saw this the other day over here.

The caption read...

"it did catch me a bit off guard to find out that they do not allow dogs to smoke cigarettes when cats are nearby"

personalDNA

This has been running around the blogging world the last couple of days. My wife took this test yesterday and I finally took it today. It is scary how true it is. As Tam and I read through my results, she kept saying, "Oh my gosh, that's right". Anyway...

My personalDNA Report
and you can take the test here.

Let me know what you guys find out!

Crazy Day

So today we started the first annual Soccer Bible Camp. Sponsored by TRF and FCA. It was a blast, but also exhausting. We have around 70 kids and we kept them going for 3 1/2 hours. It was fun getting to know some of the kids that I don't see normally. We spent time going through soccer basics and drills. We had snacks and we had some teaching time with our Kids Pastor and our Creative Director. That was cool. I love to see the passion that kids at this age (6-13) have. It is amazing how joyful kids can be and when we grow up as adults how lost all of our innocence is. Not trying to get us down, just thinking.

Anyway, that burned half my day and then I had to get to the office to pick away at things for this weekend. Including editing for the final episode of Urban Legends. I know a lot of you are anxious for that. It should be fun and maybe a little shocking. you'll have to come to a service this weekend and check it out.

I am going to take some time this evening to lay low and read more of the book I am digging into. Matthew Paul Turner's book "The Coffeehouse Gospel" has been great so far. I am almost half way through. I wanted to be farther considering my schedule, but I'll do some catch up tonight. Plan on me blogging about the book this Friday. that will be D-Day for "Adventures in Literature". Of course I have gotten some interesting ideas for another name, so that name may change soon.

Alright, off to my evening schedule and some rest, before going at it again tomorrow AM with the Soccer camp.

Holy 80's Playlist...Batman!

So we just got back from Portland. Good trip, but can get long and boring at times. I decided to run the iPod on shuffle. Thought it would be fun to see what comes up. Here is a sampling...

Van Halen(twice), Ratt(twice), Pat Benatar, Starship, Tom Petty, Queensryche, Dream Theatre

Ok, I know I have some "newer" music in my iPod, but from the dirty looks I got from my wife every once in a while, you'd think I made this play list myself, out of spite...or the need to go back in time...or something.

Anyway..Rock On?

I love Friday's!

Friday's are my days off. Usually that means my wife and I have some time to do nothing but hang together. Garage sale season is upon us, so I am sure that will be a heavy part of our routine...she says its because of me that we garage sale...ok, maybe she's right.

Anyway, we've been hanging recently at a local coffee shop called Cafe' Diem. This place is great and fun to just relax in.

Ok, we have to leave now...She wants to go look for a garage sale!

Over A Week!

In my blogging adventures, I have looked for and read numerous great articles and even excerpts from a book I purchased, about what not to do with your blog. Of course the one that is most important is to not let there be a lot of dead time on your blog. I should be writing at least once a day. There are a few of you that are committed to reading even when I don't write and I appreciate you.

So for the few that read on Friday's, I've given you something to read...

Your probably thinking, this is it??? Well, it is 10:30. I'll talk in the morning :)

Too Long and Thank you

Alright, I want to say I really appreciate the couple of you that check this page out frequently...even daily. I have let you down this last month. It's been busy for sure. It's been too long since my last blog. Thank you for your interest and commitment.

So, anyway, Easter was amazing. I really enjoyed being on campus this year. From a technical perspective, there is no place like home. There definitely is not enough space to accomodate all the visitors, but to me, that is part of the fun. God does amazing things and He allowed us to burst at the seems. We had close to 30 baptisms and numerous decisions for Christ. We had a communication sheet people turned in to let us know their thoughts on the weekend. It was very encouraging to read through everyone's thoughts. People really had a good time. Best estimiates is around 3500 in attendance for Adults and Kids. Numbers are great for one reason. We are excited to see how many we had a chance to affect. God is now workiing in 3500 lives that were here at Easter.

The worship team and tech team did amazing. Lots of time commitment and services, but you all did wonderful. Thanks so much! It is such an honor to work with a team of givers and servants who want to do their best for the Kingdom and have a fun time doing it. I always look forward to being with all of you on the weekends.

I have taken yesterday and today off to lay low. I promise I will be back up and running this next week with amazing insights, incredible wisdom and sought after truths. Of course I will be linking to all of these. Anyway, thanks for hanging out with me!

Yes, this is inWorship's Blog

I am sure there is some unwritten rule about changing blogs around, but I had a couple people mention that my blog was a little hard to read. Well this looked pretty clean, so I'll take it.

Interracial Electronics

So I'm hanging with my wife today. I have a little off-time so I am taking advantage of the time together. We are here with a friend at Starbucks enjoying each others company and catching up on little stuff. I thought this was kind of funny. As I am uploading my entourage data to my phone, I am realizing that Mac and Windows can cohabitate. Of course the Mac is telling Windows what to do. Maybe someday I can enjoy one of these...droooool. Of course they will have to come down a bit in price and actually be available when they are released. Anway, just a bit of dry humor.

Let me know

That seems like a phrase I use in email all the time. Let me know. It's almost like the common answer of I'm good or fine. It is said enough that it almost means nothing. I was talking to someone the other day and I asked them why they hadn't responded to some emails I had sent. They told me they didn't realize that I wanted them to respond. When I pointed out that I had said in each email..."let me know"...they said, "Oh, I thought that was just what you said to say goodbye". I guess I over use this statement.

SO...I want to hear from you guys. What do you think of the blog so far? A couple of you have already said what you've enjoyed. I want to hear that, but I also want to hear what could be better. What would you like to hear about? Do you want more humor? Less humor? Do you want me to actually make sense? I can't promise you anything on that. Is it laid out OK? how about design? Anyway, leave me some comments and tell me what you think.

Let Me Know...

I'm Tired...I Swear...

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I last wrote anything here. If you read my first post, you will see that I can be...undisciplined. BUT, this had nothing to do with it. I've been running crazy the last couple of weeks.

It started 2 weeks ago. We installed a new FOH console at the church and it took a good week away from my life. We are really excited about it though. The sound quality is amazing. Our Aviom system never sounded better. And now, we have no excuse to not put time and effort into our recording ministry. Sometimes you just need a little push. It has been a huge blessing to have my Brother here with us. He is invaluable and a great FOH engineer.

We've also begun a new sermon series here at the Church. we began using a creative team last year and it has revolutionized our process and also the depth of message. We have had a great time with our new Creative Director David. He started as a Youth Pastor here, but it is like we released a lion now that he is doing what God has truly gifted him to do. It's fun to see him work. It's also a blast to see how everyone on the team works together. Of course, this takes a lot of thought. I've felt like I've been at the edge of not being able to have thought. I told my wife last week that I feel like I've gotten more brain stimulation in the last couple of weeks than in the last couple of years.

So there's my excuse. i don't care if it's a good one or not...it is one.
